Who we are?
HOW IT BEGAN?

In October 2011, after several years of using the hashtag #santiagoadicto to counteract the negativity towards Santiago by its own residents using the hashtag #santiasco on Twitter, our founder, journalist Rodrigo Guendelman, published a column in the newspaper La Tercera titled “Santiago Adicto.” On the same day, October 29, the Twitter account @santiagoadicto was born, followed shortly after by the Instagram account @santiagoadicto. The objective was as simple as it was counterintuitive: to encourage residents of Santiago to know, love, and care for their city.

Four years later, in November 2015, the Instagram account @adictoachile was launched as a sister account to @santiagoadicto, aiming to instill the same sentiment in the people of Chile.

Nearly 14 years later, Santiago Adicto has grown into a multimedia platform (radio program, TV show on both open and cable television, columns in print and digital media), a media outlet, and a thriving community with over a million followers on social media. Adicto a Chile, with over 250 thousand Instagram followers, has expanded its scope beyond social media to launch new projects like the Chile Adicto Hotels Guide. This initiative, born from the collaboration between Guendelman and Patricio Miñano, director of prominent publications such as Blank, Closer, and Deck, and since 2024 supported and endorsed by Imagen de Chile, showcases the diversity, beauty, talent, and vision that characterize Chile’s finest hotels.

Architecture, design, gastronomy, landscape, sustainability, conservation, and innovation are just some of the aspects this guide has been unveiling since its first edition in 2023. We invite you to discover Chile through these ambassadors of our hospitality: the hotels, retreats, lodges, and estates that span Chile from north to south.
